Welcome to Drax TeachingZone. Drax is the largest, cleanest and most efficient power station in the UK. At the moment we produce 7% of the UK’s electricity needs.

We are committed to help in the education of young people about the importance of electricity, how it is made and the environmental care that is taken at all stages in the electricity generation process.

From the Drax TeachingZone you can access a variety of FREE downloadable information and classroom activities about electricity and the environment.

You can also find out how to arrange a trip to the Visitor Centre, a tour of the station, a walk down our nature trail or a visit to our Skylark Nature Reserve and Centre.

Thousands of visitors are welcomed to Drax Power Station every year, during 2010, we played host to some 7,500 visitors.

The appeal of discovering more about how power is produced and the sheer scale of the site and its associated activities attracts schools and colleges as well as business organisations and associations.

Always wondered how it works?
